Idea file: upstairs bathroom

I'm quite happy with the basic layout (but not the clearance) of the upstairs bathroom, although I'll check with the boys given they're the main ones who use it.

The entry door currently opens outwards, which won't be an option in the new layout. The room itself (floor space) is about 1.8m by 2.1m (of which barely 1.5m is usable), with the door on the short side. The shower is slightly off square, about 780 x 880mm, and full height. Just. The corner mounted basin has a wee shelf above it, but no bench space.

The loo is drawn a bit big, and the basin's not right, but you get the idea

The new plan will have the same floorspace, but the whole room will be usable, except for the inward swinging door. The loo will go behind the door (where the shower is now), and the shower will go (roughly) where the loo is.

Again, loo drawn too big; but the rest okay.

With this configuration, I think we can go for a frameless three panel corner sliding door, like this one ($850 + freight), dimensions 1150 x 810 x 2000H (interior 800 x 1100)

I'd consider putting a privacy screen/bookshelf next to the shower for reading materials & supplies for the loo (this is the 'going for a sit' one).

This is a pretty ugly example of a shelf in the privacy screen/divider

and this pic shows it between the shower and the loo

There'll be room between the fixed panel and the wall for a vanity unit, up to 90cm wide, 55cm deep. For example the Ikea Godmorgon/Odensvik 80x49x64cm unit ($499)

It comes in boring colours too.

And the dunny can be a practical cheapie, ideally re-using one of the existing ones.
